The U.S. Air Force plans to deliver the first of 24 Hawker Beechcraft-built aircraft to Afghanistan as soon as Christmas Day, according to Bloomberg. The planes were modified by L-3 Communications for video, still images and eavesdropping capabilities.
The planes can beam images and video directly to ground troops, who will be equipped by laptop devices that allow them to see the same images as airborne operators.
