Too busy legislating for fundraising

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's push to pass health care before Christmas is wreaking havoc with senators' traditional holiday fundraising, including his own, according to CQ Politics. Among the events affected was a "NYC Weekend" fundraiser planned by Sen. Pat Roberts (in photo), R-Kan., at the admission price of $1,000 per head and $2,000 per political-action committee. "It's right before Christmas. I've got 140 'honey do' projects — 'honey can you do this, honey can you do that.' So that rates way before any fundraiser," Roberts told CQ Politics. Roberts also has until 2014 to raise cash for re-election.
