Tiahrt, Moran trying not to miss votes

Considering all the time that Rep. Todd Tiahrt (right), R-Goddard, and Rep. Jerry Moran (left), R-Hays, are spending on their campaigns for the GOP Senate nomination, you'd expect their numbers of missed House votes to be higher than they are. According to the Washington Post's database, Tiahrt missed 32 votes this year, or 3.2 percent, and cast 956 votes. Moran missed 30 votes, or 3 percent, and cast 958. Freshman Rep. Lynn Jenkins, R-Topeka, was among the seven House members to have a perfect record of 988 votes cast in 2009.
