PASADENA, Calif. — The shovel pass was working, the Wildcats were moving and for a while the Kansas State football team threw a real scare into UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
But even with K-State’s offense going up and down the field better than it had all season, and its defense playing fairly strong too, it wasn’t enough to grab a road victory.
Kansas State marched into UCLA territory all night long, but was able to capitalize on only two of those good situations. UCLA won 23-9, and thanks to a 51-yard touchdown stroll from Terrence Austin in the final 7 minutes the score didn’t end up looking all that close. (more…)
