After record-setting rains triggered flooding in the Wichita area earlier this week, the region is getting a welcome break from precipitation.
While skies will be cloudy today in Wichita, forecasters do not expect rain to reappear in the area until late Friday night and early Saturday morning. That gives Cowskin Creek, the Walnut River and other local waterways swollen by the heavy rains early this week more time to recede.
Highs today will be in the upper 70s, with light winds out of the east-northeast. Lows will drop to the low 60s, and highs will rebound to the low 80s on Friday under partly cloudy skies.
