Showers that doused the Wichita metropolitan area early this morning should continue off and on past noon before moving off, forecasters say.
The net result will be a cloudy, cool day but a dry evening for the launch of the prep football season and Wichita’s latest edition of First Friday.
Highs should reach the mid-70s, with light northeast winds in the single digits.
Labor Day weekend should be mostly cloudy with highs in the low to mid 80s for the Wichita area. No rain is currently in the forecast.
