As expected, the Oct 9 Kapaun Mount Carmel-Bishop Carroll football game will be on ESPNU.
This is the second time the City League will be showcased on ESPNU. East played at Dodge City in 2007 in a game televised on ESPNU. (Arthur and Bryce Brown played for East at the time, and Dodge City had then-Arkansas commit Kale Pick. But Pick, a quarterback, didn’t play because of an injury. He later decommitted and committed to KU, where he is now.)
Showcasing this game isn’t a surprise. While it would have been nice to have Carroll at Northwest (two Division I commits in BC’s Blake Bell to Oklahoma and NW’s Demarcus Robinson to K-State) and while Kapaun doesn’t have that star power, it looks like it will be a good game. It always seems to be.

Bell threw for 350 in 2008 against Kapaun. Kapaun’s improved, but does it really matter? This is one of the best rivalries in the City League in any sport (the other bests would be Heights-Southeast, Heights-East, East-Southeast in basketball).
This will be the second time that Bell has been on ESPNU, though.
On Thursday night, the Elite 11 quarterback camp — which Bell attended this summer — will be showcased on ESPNU at 6 p.m., according to Bell’s dad, Mark.
