Many people still believe false claims about reform

Despite all the news stories and nonpartisan Web sites that thoroughly debunked myths about health care reform, many people still believe false claims, an NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll released last week showed. Of those survey, 55 percent believed the reform would give coverage to illegal immigrants, 50 percent believed it would pay for abortions, and 45 percent believed it would authorize "death panels" to deny care to the elderly. None of these claims is true.Meanwhile, a new Pew Research Center poll found that "regular viewers of the Fox News channel are far more likely than viewers of other cable news channels to say claims of death panels are true."
