WICHITA - Stop me if you’ve heard this forecast already this week: Plenty of sunshine, warm temperatures and hearty winds are on tap for the Wichita metropolitan area.
Highs in the low 90s are expected, forecasters say, with partly cloudy skies and southerly winds blowing steadily in the teens and gusting into the mid-20s.
That’s what the past few days have been like in Wichita, but the final day of the work week is also the final day of this weather pattern.
There’s a good chance of rain and thunderstorms after midnight, and some of those storms could be strong. The weekend ushers in a period of unsettled weather, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible each day through at least the middle of next week.
Some of the storms could become severe, forecasters say. Stay tuned to forecasts and conditions.
