WICHITA - That hot stretch forecasters have been calling for most of the week? It’s finally here.
Temperatures are expected to climb to the upper 90s under a nearly cloudless sky. Winds will be gusty out of the south, surging from the teens to more than 30 miles an hour.
The weekend will offer more of the same, forecasters say, with highs topping 100 Saturday and flirting with the century mark on Sunday. Skies will be mostly clear and south winds will buffet the region, gusting to the upper 20s.
The next chance for rain doesn’t arrive until Monday night, forecasters say.
