Two of the Boeing KC-767 aerial refueling tankers that will go to the Italian Air Force has performed a series of airborne boom contacts and fuel offloads in observation test flights, reports say.
The tankers demonstrated their capability to refuel a large receiver aircraft and a fighter aircraft using the 767’s aerial refueling boom and remote aerial refueling operator station, according to Aviation News.
During the tests, the tankers offloaded more than 100,000 pounds of fuel during 65 tanker-to-tanker contacts, the report said.
