ESPN may change televised Carroll game

By J. Long

The early buzz surrounding the upcoming City League football season was the Bishop Carroll at Northwest football game being televised by one of the ESPN networks. But that game now will not be televised, and Carroll’s game against another, Kapaun Mount Carmel, may be instead.

Carroll coach Alan Schuckman said that though he can’t confirm that the Crusaders and Eagles will be televised, he has talked to ESPN about it.

Schuckman said that he gave ESPN representatives both dates — Carroll at Northwest on Sept. 11, Kapaun at Carroll on Oct. 9.

“I guess the later date worked better for their schedule,” Schuckman said.

The Eagles’ Blake Bell, an Oklahoma oral commitment, is the third-ranked quarterback in the class of 2010 by Rivals.com.
