WICHITA - Abundant sunshine and steadily strengthening winds will mark the final day of the work week for the Wichita area today, forecasters say.
Temperatures should reach the mid-80s and south winds should intensify from the single digits into the teens, with gusts to more than 20 miles an hour. Forecasters say those winds will persist overnight and strengthen on Saturday, when gusts will surge above 30 mph.
Highs this weekend will top 90 degrees, with robust southerly winds accenting both days. A slight chance of showers arrives Sunday night.
