It was a race of juniors in the Class 6A’s 110-meter hurdles. Derby’s Meshach Kennedy won a thrilling duel between Northwest’s Andrew Etheridge with a time of 14.52. The two were neck-and-neck heading into the last hurdle when Kennedy flew over his and Etheridge clipped it. Etheridge let out a scream and almost stopped running, basically walking to a 15.12. Maize’s Miles Ukaoma finished third with a 15.19.
After the race, Etheridge was absent from the podium for the medals and a teammate had to go collect his medal for him.
