She says parting with Associated chief executive Mike Snyder is difficult.
“God knows he’s been very good to me,” Saifullah says.
She’ll be taking over some of the responsibilities that former vice president Olivia Simmons used to handle. Simmons is now president for Visit Topeka. But Saifullah’s position is not the same one Simmons had.
“We’ve done some kind of restructuring in the organization,” says Go Wichita vice president Maureen Hofrenning.
Hofrenning says there are a number of changes, which will be announced June 1. That’s when Saifullah starts her new job.
“It’s obviously a key role within our organization,” Hofrenning says.
Go Wichita has used various branding agencies in recent years. Saifullah says Associated won’t get any special consideration going forward.
“It’s always going to be a case-by-case (situation) based on budget and marketing campaigns (and) whether it’s a good fit,” she says.
