Bishop Carroll has been in contact with ESPNU about the possibility of the network broadcasting the Bishop Carroll at Northwest football game on Sept. 11.
It would be the second time ESPNU has broadcast a game involving the City League. In 2007 ESPNU broadcast the East at Dodge City game, which featured East’s Arthur and Bryce Brown, and Dodge City’s Kale Pick. Pick was hurt and didn’t play in the game, but he had committed to Arkansas. He ended up de-committing and going to Kansas.
Broadcasting the Bishop Carroll-Northwest should be a no-brainer for ESPNU. It features two of the Wichita-area’s most successful teams, as well as two outstanding athletes in Carroll quarterback Blake Bell, an Oklahoma commit, and Northwest running back Demarcus Robinson, a Kansas State commit. Rivals.com has ranked Bell third at quarterback for the class of 2010.
Carroll coach Alan Schuckman said that he has had conversations with ESPNU for the past four months. He’s not sure when a final decision will be made on the game, though.
