It will soon be possible to access the Web, e-mail and instant messaging through your laptops, smartphones and personal digital assistants while on AirTran Airways flights.
The carrier, which provides service from Wichita to Atlanta, will offer passengers wireless broadband Internet access on every flight, the airline announced Tuesday morning. AirTran’s fleet of 136 Boeing 737s and 717s will be outfitted with the service by mid-summer, the airline said.
AirTran is partnering with Aircell to offer the in-flight service, which the airline says will be available for a small fee based on the length of the flight.
