Boeing announced improvements for its Boeing Business Jet, a BBJ Convertible. It’s 747-8 jet with the ability to reconfigure from an all-passenger to an all-cargo configuration in less than eight hours.
That gives governments, corporations and private individuals the ability to transport staff or troops to delivering disaster-relief supplies, tools, parts and machinery, race cars or race horses or equipment, or to configure for medical evacuation purposes, Boeing said.
The improvements are planned for 2011.
Boeing also announced that its president of Boeing Business Jets is retiring in July. His job will be assumed by Stephen Taylor, current the BBJ chief pilot.
