Was Goddard vs. Maize everything you thought it would be?
It was for me.
Garrett Gould wasn’t his usual self for the first three innings, but he was unhittable the rest of the way. Unfortunately for the Eagles, Goddard had already gotten the advantage it needed to pull off the 1-0 win.
Gould was the more dominant pitcher, but Brian Kowal was more impressive. Kowal got out of two bases-loaded jams and never lost control of the ballgame.
Goddard faces Bishop Carroll tonight. This game would be more interesting if Carroll hadn’t lost to North on Monday. But splitting with Northwest does make things a little better.
It’s time to pick All-Metro teams. Who you got?
