Shocker Mindstorms Challenge, an annual robotics competition at Wichita State University, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Heskett Center gymnasium at Wichita State.
Forty-one teams and 442 students are scheduled to participate, WSU said in a news release. Those are the largest numbers Wichita State says it has ever registered for the popular event.
Mindstorms is designed to inspire more interest in science, technology, engineering and math skills. Teams score points by directing Lego robots through obstacle courses designed by Wichita State engineering students.
This year’s courses were designed around a Star Wars theme.
