Wichita police seek suspect in shooting near southeast Wichita diner

The crime

About 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, Wichita police were clearing the parking lot at J.J.’s Diner, 7038 E. Lincoln, when a man started shooting a handgun nearby. He hit a young man in his ankle; the injury was non-life-threatening. Officers chased the suspect but didn’t find him.

The suspect is a thin black man in his 20s and of medium height. He was wearing a white and red shirt and blue jeans. White covered about a fourth of the upper portion of his shirt.
