Methamphetamine and arson – that’s what Wichita police allege was involved in a store incident Wednesday night.
On Thursday, Wichita police spokeswoman Sgt. Nikki Woodrow gave this account: About 8:30 p.m Wednesday, a 27-year-old man allegedly was lighting matches and putting them out on his hooded jacket at the Family Dollar near 13th and Broadway. There were no injuries.
A police report said there was no damage and that store video would be available later.
The man was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine and aggravated arson, Woodrow said. He was being held on a $25,000 bond, jail records show.
It wasn’t clear whether the man might have been under the influence at the time of the incident, she said.
