A California truck driver was indicted Wednesday in federal court after Wichita police stopped his truck, allegedly loaded with 15.75 pounds of methamphetamine, on Sunday, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom.
Arnoldo Perez-Ortega, a 33-year-old from Fontana, Calif., was charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
According to the news release, police stopped his car near I-235 and Central on Sunday and discovered the meth.
If convicted, he faces a penalty of not less than 10 years and a fine up to $250,000.
