Wichita police arrested a 28-year-old man after a 16-year-old boy said the man chased him and threatened to stab him with the knife he was carrying.
Sgt. Joe Kennedy, with the Wichita Police Department, said police went to an area near Broadway and Murdock, where the incident took place, when the 16-year-old called for help at around 6:10 p.m. Saturday.
The teenager said he and the 28-year-old knew each other and got into an argument several days ago. The 16-year-old said he then saw the man while walking near Broadway and Murdock, Kennedy said.
The man threatened to stab the 16-year-old, police said, so the boy ran down the street. The teenager told police that when he stopped running and turned around, the man had a knife in his hand.
The teen said another person walked up to the two of them, and the man walked away.
Kennedy said officers later arrested the man on suspicion of aggravated assault, criminal threats, methamphetamine-related charges, resisting arrest and warrants.
He said the 16-year-old was not injured.
