After a “minor disagreement over spilled beer” at east Wichita’s Club Rodeo, a 39-year-old man was struck in the face with a beer bottle, police said Saturday.

The incident was reported shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday at the club, 10001 E. Kellogg.

As he was leaving, a 29-year-old suspect also punched a 27-year-old man who was with the 39-year-old, according to Wichita police Sgt. Joe Kennedy.

The man was detained by the club’s security until police arrived, Kennedy said.

The 39-year-old was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of multiple lacerations to his face. His 27-year-old acquaintance did not require medical treatment.

The 29-year-old was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of aggravated battery and simple battery, Kennedy said.
