Wichita police arrested a father who tested at almost four times the legal alcohol limit after he was found asleep in a parked car with his two small children, an official said Monday.
The children, an 8-month-old girl and 5-year-old boy, were not injured and were released to relatives, police Lt. James Espinoza said.
About 6:20 p.m. Sunday, someone walked by the car, which was parked in the 5600 block of South Broadway and apparently not running. The person saw that the 26-year-old father was asleep and that two children were inside, Espinoza said. The witness reported it to police.
The father was “passed out” in the vehicle, and his alcohol reading was 0.317, a police report said.
