Shots fired outside Wichita club

A man opened fire on two women and a man near a club on South Broadway early Saturday, but didn’t hit anyone.

Police received several reports of gunfire near the El Farol Rojo Club, 1030 S. Broadway, about 1:55 a.m., said Sgt. Ron Hunt.

The incident started when an unidentified woman tried to start a fight, and the man went to his vehicle to get a handgun.

When he pointed the gun at the victims, they ran for cover.

He fired multiple rounds, Hunt said, then left in a white pickup truck.

One of the women chased him in her vehicle and the suspect fired at her, shattering her window, Hunt said.

The victims left the scene and refused to cooperate with police, he said.

Officers found 9-millimeter and 40-caliber shell casings in the parking lot, Hunt said.
