One dead, another in custody, after pedestrian hit by a car in Old Town

Wichita police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with a crash that resulted in a man’s death early Sunday morning in Old Town.

It happened just before 2 a.m. in the 100 block of North Washington, a Witchita Police Department news release said. There, they found a man who had been hit by a car. The man, who will be identified by the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner’s office, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

A 17-year-old boy was later arrested and booked into the Sedgwick County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and two counts of aggravated battery while under the influence, the news release said.
