Brightly-dressed man robs Burger King on West Street

An armed robber with a suspect fashion sense is suspected of robbing a Burger King on Saturday morning.

A worker at the West Street restaurant who was in the bathroom heard a co-worker scream, said Wichita police Lt. Steven Kenney. The employee came out and found a man holding her co-worker down on the kitchen floor by her hair, pointing a handgun and demanding money from the register.

The man was reportedly wearing a blue and orange cap, a red and blue bandanna, a black shirt and red pants with a white stripe. He is in his 20s and is 5 foot 8 inches, according to police.

The robbery occurred at about 9:25 a.m. at 418 S. West St.
