A man “very irate and upset” because he and a woman couldn’t secure financing for a vehicle threatened three Kia Motors employees with a gun Friday morning, Wichita police said.

Sgt. Roger Runft said the 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman went to the car dealership at 8725 W. Kellogg to buy a vehicle but became angry when they were refused a loan. The man drew a handgun and pointed it at the employees, Runft said.

Police called to the dealership about 10:15 a.m. found the couple nearby. They were arrested, interviewed and jailed on suspicion of aggravated assault and other “minor offenses,” Runft said.

No one was hurt.
