A 30-year-old woman returned home Saturday evening to find that her husband had sexually assaulted her 12-year-old daughter, police said Monday.
After running some errands and returning home around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, she found that the front door to the south Wichita home was locked, Wichita police Lt. James Espinoza said. After ringing the doorbell numerous times, the 29-year-old man eventually answered the door and the woman learned that he had sexually assaulted the girl, who is his stepdaughter.
Police do not think this was the only time the girl was assaulted, Espinoza said.
The 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape of a child 13 and under, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and sexual exploitation of a child, according to booking reports.
