One person with serious injuries after reported shooting in south Wichita, police say
One person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a shooting Friday afternoon in the 3500 block of South Meridian, according to Wichita police spokesperson Trevor Macy.
The shooting was reported at 4:12 p.m.
It appeared police were chasing a suspect shortly after that and possibly found pieces of a dismantled gun on 33rd just east of Meridian, according to 911 emergency communications.
Early reports were that a suspect had been running in the area and a victim had left in a vehicle that possibly contained a gun, according to 911 emergency communications.
No other details were immediately available.
