A bouncer at Club Rodeo was sent to the emergency room early Saturday morning when a customer hit him, according to Wichita police.
At 1:40 a.m. Saturday, a 23-year-old man was being escorted out of the club, 10001 E. Kellogg, when the incident occurred, said Wichita police Sgt. John Hoofer.
“He took offense to that believing that they may have touched his girlfriend in some way and turned around and punched one of the bouncers in the face, knocking him to the ground,” Hoofer said.
The bouncer received a cut to his face that needed stitches; he had possible broken bones. He was transported to Wesley Medical Center by EMS in serious condition.
The 23-year-old was taken into police custody on aggravated battery charges, “given the nature of the injuries,” Hoofer said.
