One man shot in hand, second man shot in leg at south Wichita motel, police say

Wichita police are investigating a Friday afternoon shooting in south Wichita that left two people with gunshot wounds.

Emergency crews were called at around 5:14 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 4500 block of South Broadway. A Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said one victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition and a second victim in serious condition.

Police Sgt. Bob Gulliver said a 54-year-old man was shot in the hand and a 26-year-old man was shot in the leg at the Heritage Inn.

The investigation is ongoing.
