A tip from the public led Sedgwick County sheriff’s investigators to a pickup – and later the suspected driver – involved in a hit-and-run that seriously injured two teenage bicyclists on Saturday, an official said Wednesday.
Tyler G. Walker, 35, of Peck, was arrested at 2 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury traffic crash that injured a 15-year-old Clearwater girl and a 17-year-old Haysville girl, sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning said in a news release.
Walker was being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on Wednesday evening. No bond was listed for him on online inmates records.
A tip left on the sheriff’s Facebook page led investigators to the vehicle, Dehning said Wednesday. He wouldn’t say where it was found.

Authorities identified its driver later in the day, according to the news release.
The girls were riding their bicycles in the 7800 block of South Meridian shortly before midnight Saturday when a white Toyota pickup hit them and didn’t stop, Dehning said.
