Kansas man sentenced to life in prison for child sex crimes

A 60-year-old man from Anthony was sentenced Thursday to life in prison for child sex crimes, according to a news release from Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

Larry E. Longbine, 60, was sentenced in Harper County District Court by Judge Larry T. Solomon. Longbine was convicted by a jury in April of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. The charge involved a child under the age of 14 and stemmed from an incident that occurred between 2007 and 2008.

Longbine will not be eligible for parole for at least 25 years under Jessica’s Law.

The case was investigated by the Anthony Police Department. Assistant Attorney General Christine Ladner of Schmidt’s office prosecuted the case.
