Wichita police are increasing their patrols in an area where they say a gang shootout took place Saturday afternoon.

Officers went to the 1400 block of North Harding — near 13th and Oliver — at around 2:30 p.m. after four people were shot. Those injured were an 18-year-old man, 18-year-old woman, 48-year-old woman and 66-year-old woman.

The gunfire happened between two gangs, Officer Charley Davidson said. Some of the people injured were in their homes, police said. Police wouldn't say if any of the people injured were involved in the gangs.

All four have been treated and released from the hospital.

Davidson said investigators have received “minimal cooperation” from those involved.
