Police have arrested a 16-year-old male after a shooting Monday morning across the street from East High School, police said Monday afternoon.
He has been charged with criminal discharge of a firearm and being a juvenile in possession of a firearm.
The school was on lockdown for about an hour after shots were fired around 11 a.m., police said Monday.
No damages or injuries have been reported, although police found multiple shell casings at English and Poplar, east of the school.
Several people involved in the incident ran into East High and were later located unarmed, Davidson said. Others involved were seen leaving in a white, small SUV-type vehicle, which was also located.
The Wichita school district told The Eagle that the people who ran into the school were students.
