Three teenagers and an adult were arrested after police say they broke into a woman's house and attempted to rob her early Friday, according to Wichita police.

A neighbor called 911 when she saw four people break into a house in the 1300 block of West Dora through a back door and window at around 2 a.m., Officer Charley Davidson said.

When police arrived, the resident, a 40-year-old woman, was already standing outside. She told officers that four men broke into the home and demanded money and drugs, Davidson said.

It wasn't immediately known Friday morning how the woman escaped the home or if she knew any of the men, Davidson said.

One man, a 29-year-old, tried to run away from police, but a police dog was used to apprehend him, Davidson said.

The three other people who were still inside the house — two 13-year-olds and an 18-year-old — walked out and were arrested.

Police found a rifle inside the home, Davidson said.
