A Kansas vocal teacher was arrested on suspicion of engaging in sexual relations with a student.
Kevin Johnson, 53, of Concordia, has been charged with engaging in unlawful sexual relations, which is a level five personal felony, the Cloud County Attorney’s Office said.
The Concordia Police Department said in a Facebook post that Johnson was arrested on Monday on suspicion of engaging in sexual relations while he was a teacher or person in a position of authority.
Johnson is listed as a middle and high school vocal music teacher on the Concordia public schools' website. Johnson had previously been suspended by the school district, the attorney's office said.
The attorney's office said the victim in the case is a student, but did not say the student's age.
Johnson has been released on $50,000 bond, the attorney's office said.
