A former Pittsburg police officer was arrested on suspicion of aggravated sexual battery and official misconduct, according to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

Jessie Edward Loren Davis, 22, of Carthage, Missouri, surrendered to sheriff’s deputies Tuesday after a warrant for his arrest was issued, Sheriff Dan Peak said in a news release.

Davis is accused of asking a woman he arrested to flash him and allow him to touch her breasts, Peak said. Davis arrested the woman after a domestic disturbance on Aug. 26 and told her it would help her get out of the charges she faced, Peak said.

The woman told investigators she lifted her shirt and was able to maneuver herself into a position that allowed Davis to reach through the patrol car’s partition into the back seat where he touched her breasts, Peak said in the release.

“The arrestee implied that she did this out of fear and was afraid of what might happen if she declined the officer’s request,” the release said.

The Pittsburg Police Department asked the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the allegations after an internal investigation was opened.

Davis has been released on $25,000 bond.
