Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a truck who hit a man walking in east Wichita overnight and then left the crash scene.
Officer Charley Davidson said the 22-year-old man had just left Club Rodeo, 10001 E. Kellogg, and was walking on the highway near Webb Road when the truck ran into him at around 3 a.m. Friday. The driver took off, leaving the injured man. The man suffered critical injuries and was taken to a Wichita hospital for treatment.
Davidson said a 25-year-old friend of the injured man told officers that the 22-year-old had been involved in a fight at Club Rodeo earlier that night and left the nightclub not long before he was hit. It’s unclear whether the argument is connected to the collision.
Police say the truck that hit the 22-year-old may be a red 2011 to 2014 heavy duty Chevrolet Silverado. It was driving west on Kellogg.
