A 59-year-old man suspected of carrying out several robberies and kidnappings at Hutchinson businesses is in jail.
Jeffrey Dean Howell, of Hutchinson, was arrested without trouble when Hutchinson police officers served a search warrant at his home, 1604 E. Sixth, on Thursday, according to a post on the Hutchinson Police Department’s Facebook page.

He is accused of robbing the Dillons store at 206 W. 5th, the Kwik Shop at 1401 E. 4th, the Kwik Shop at 1701 N. Monroe, the Subway restaurant at 1530 E. 11th and Vic’s Dog Grooming at 1017 E. 4th, the department said.
He’s also facing several kidnapping charges in connection with the robberies, according to the post.
Howell remained in the Reno County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bond on Friday morning. Authorities continue to investigate the crimes, the post said.
