Man robbed leaving east-side taco restaurant

Wichita police say a 22-year-old man leaving an east-side fast food restaurant at around 2 a.m. Thursday was robbed and attacked by two gunmen.

Both suspects were described as black men, between 25 and 30 years old, 5-feet-10 with a medium build. Both were wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants. They had handguns, Officer Charley Davidson said.

Davidson said the 22-year-old was headed toward his vehicle outside of the Taco Bueno at Central and Hillside when he was confronted by the robbers and told to hand over money. They took the 22-year-old’s wallet and hit and kicked him before running away.

Police are asking the public to share any information they might have about the crime. Tips can be left with Wichita police detectives at 316-268-4407 or at Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111, or on the P3 Tips mobile application.
