A 57-year-old woman was shot in the midsection during a drive-by at 12:10 a.m. Friday, police said.

The woman, along with six other people, were in a house near the 2900 block of East Ellen when the residence was struck with multiple bullets. That’s near 25th Street and Hillside.

Wichita Police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said the woman was taken to a hospital in serious but non-life-threatening condition. No other updates on the woman were available Friday morning.

Woodrow said the police are not aware of any suspects or motives.

“It is not gang affiliated that we know of,” she said. “So, we are looking for the community’s help in obtaining some suspect information.”

Police ask that if anyone has information regarding the incident or was in the area at around the time of the drive-by, to call Crimestoppers at 316-267-2111.
