He pasted on a fake beard then walked into a bank with a note. The demand was cash.

Now Wichita police need help finding him.

The Emprise Bank branch in the 2100 block of North Broadway was the site of a robbery at 2 p.m. on Tuesday after a man wearing what authorities think is phony facial hair strolled in unarmed and handed a teller a note asking for money.

Wichita police Sgt. Nikki Woodrow said the teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash. He pocketed the bills and walked back out the front door, she said.

Police don’t know which direction the man headed but said he was last seen on foot. In addition to the fake facial hair, the man wore black-rimmed glasses, blue jeans and dark work boots during the robbery. His race and age are unknown.

Anyone who saw the man leaving or knows his identity or whereabouts is asked to call police detectives at 316-268-4407 or Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.

Tips can also be submitted online at WichitaCrimeStoppers.com or via text to TIP217, then the message to CRIMES (274637). Crime Stoppers tips are anonymous.

A 19-year-old female employee of the bank reported the robbery, Woodrow said. No one was hurt.
