A teenager’s vehicle was stolen Saturday night after the driver offered two girls a ride, according to Wichita police.
The incident occurred shortly before 10 p.m. after the 16-year-old driver of a white GMC Acadia offered a ride to two other girls. Sgt. Wendell Nicholson said the driver’s mother reported that the teen was punched in the face as the other two pushed her out of the vehicle before driving off.
The assault was reported to have occurred in the area of Pawnee and Hillside. Nicholson said the driver grabbed the door of the vehicle while being forced out and was dragged for an unknown distance. The victim was injured and transported to a local hospital.
Nicholson said the vehicle – which has Kansas tag 196-GBS – had not been found as of midday Sunday. Nicholson said he wasn’t sure whether the driver knew the two other juveniles.
