Florida man sentenced to 10 years for child sex crimes in Kansas

A Florida man convicted of sex crimes against children was sentenced Thursday in Butler County District Court to more than 10 years in jail, according to a news release from the office of Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt.

Daniel Todd Manning, of Jacksonville, was convicted in 2013 on two counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and one count of indecent liberties with a child. The incidents occurred in Butler County in May 2011.

Manning, 43, was sentenced to 122 months in jail. According to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida, Manning moved to Missouri after the indictment in 2013, and then moved to Jacksonville, where he was arrested April 30.

The Augusta Department of Public Safety investigated the case with extradition assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service, Butler County Sheriff’s Office and multiple Florida law enforcement agencies.
