An Overland Park man has been sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for receiving and distributing child pornography, the U.S. Attorney's Office said today.
Zachariah Lewis, 28, admitted when he pleaded guilty that he had more than 9,500 images of child pornography and more than 1,000 child pornography movies on his computers when investigators executed a search warrant in December 2008.
Prosecutors said the charge against Lewis grew out of information the United States Postal Inspection Service received in 2007 from agents investigating Internet child pornography bulletin boards used by individuals in more than 30 countries.
Investigators followed an electronic trail that eventually led to a Yahoo account that Lewis used to post on the bulletin boards and download information from them, investigators said.
