WICHITA — A judge today set bond at $500,000 for a Wichita woman arrested in a fatal weekend stabbing.
Catherine T. Collins, 20, was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Boston Sicard.
Sicard, 20, was found at the corner of Central and Ridge Road just after 4 a.m. Saturday, and he died soon afterward at Wesley Medical Center from multiple stab wounds.
Wichita police said the stabbing occurred at a nearby apartment complex at 734 N. Country Acres where Collins lived.
The victim and suspect met at a party earlier that evening, police said, and the stabbing occurred during an argument over a woman who was not present at the time of the confrontation.
Collins was arrested later Saturday morning at the complex.
District Judge Ben Burgess ordered Collins to return to court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 28.
He appointed the Sedgwick County Public Defender's Office to represent her.
The case marks the 14th homicide of the year in Wichita.
